A totally new technique designed to streamline piecing of the traditional Hunter’s Star block. Deb takes each student step by step through a strip piecing process that allows all to achieve maximum efficiency with rotary cutting and machine piecing techniques. Blocks are then trimmed to a precise size making assembly simple and accurate. A wide variety of options are given for size, shape and layout thus individualizing each project . Fun, fast and striking. Suitable to those with some basic quilting skills (not recommended as a first project).
This class takes students through a variety of skill building techniques as they work on constructing a traditional Carolina Lily block. Many students shy away from this pattern because of the “Y” seams. Well, now they don’t have to! Deb introduces the Fast Flying Geese technique, slightly alters the pattern and eliminates ALL the “Y” seams. Additionally students are exposed to Celtic Bias Bar appliqué and Freezer paper appliqué and a “Migrating Geese” technique used in the pieced border. A great one block wallhanging or impressive full size project. Suitable for those with basic skills and beyond.

A guaranteed successful project with Deb’s new technique and ruler. This simple three triangle combination unit (two quarter square triangles and one half square triangle) is cut and pieced a bit larger than necessary, then trimmed down to an exact size using Deb’s “Triangle Tool”. All units produced are then used in the design shown here to create a pleasing, and easy project for all students. A variety of additional projects will be presented that show the usefulness of the “Triangle Tool”. Good for all levels. Full View Alternate Example
