These are the current classes and lectures that Deb teaches on a regular basis.
Time to think and sew "out of the box"! If you've never worked with anything other than square blocks when making a quilt, you are going to be amazed at the ease of construction when using the 60 degree triangle shape. These blocks start out being strip pieced and are eventually anchored to a central hexagon. Then entire quilt is assembled in rows, so there are no set in "Y" seams. A stunning quilt made with just a few fabrics or with several dozen. Class is simple enough for those with little or no prior quilt making skills although a basic knowledge of quilting techniques is useful. Block Detail
Another original design created by overlapping one block upon another in a computer design program. Frequently used as my beginner class project it can be made simply with three different colors or it can be altered slightly with a five color option. Techniques include strip piecing and “folded corners” and makes a truly magnificent overall design. Suitable for all level quilters. Block Detail
A Fast, fun, crazy way to make a quilt. Students will start with two different stacks of fat quarters and us a Stack-Slash-Shuffle and Switch process to create these unique blocks with little or no fuss. All blocks are trimmed down at the end so quilt construction is a snap. The project is based on the techniques developed by "Buggy Barn", but this quilt is truly a Deb Tucker original version.
My favorite of all the scrap blocks. Students learn how to quickly rotary cut and machine piece all sections. Techniques covered include “folded corners”, “Thirty Something” units, and fusible bias appliqué. Participants can then choose to arrange their blocks using a number of different settings including 2 wall hangings and 3 table runners. A great way to use up all those bits and pieces. Table Runner
Using this or one of Deb’s many other original designs and learn the basics of working with wool. Optional basting processes are discussed as well as great “how to” assemble and finish instructions. An all handwork project. No sewing machine required. Suitable for all levels. Alternate Example 1 Alternate Example 2 Table Runner
